Default Clue 42- When starting your day at the cafe don't reach for the pepper

'When starting your day' - could be 'Morning' or 'Breakfast'
'don't reach for the pepper' - could be 'manners', 'please pass', 'please', 'pass' or 'salt' ('salt' instead of 'pepper')
There is also site http://www.pleasepassthepepper.com/ but doesn't seem to be relevant
Another explanation (Thanks - Templeton, Smoothblog) is that the starting your day at 'cafe' = 'c' (start letter of Cafe) and don't reach for pepper means not to use 'p' and use 's' (salt instead). P and S are some of the labels on the Salt and Pepper shakers. So instead 'C' ias the first letter in Cafe, instead of using 'P' (which would give 'pafe'), it suggests we use 'S', giving us SAFE (yet again)
Anyway this fails to explain some of the words in the clue (e.g. 'day at')
