Residual Income Website? - Webmaster Forum

Does anyone have any websites that they have built about a certain topic and have just left alone to earn money from Adsense or something like that? Could you just make a really well search engine optimized website and leave it for people to discover on their own?

I'm thinking this might be a good idea. A domain name is only $5-8 a year and hosting can be free or really cheap too.

You should update your website as much as possible to keep your visitors coming back, that and search engines love fresh content.

In order for websites to become successful in the short and long run, you need to maintain them.

I beleive this works if you promote the site before you leave it alone. In other words, post it o some directories and forums for a while, then move onto something else. I did that with my site http://www.fedoutlook.com and it is producing some traffic even though I have not touched it in a while.
